The Parlor at Abbington Green Bed and Breakfast
From the Foyer, step into the PARLOR of Abbington Green Bed and Breakfast. It's a very bright room and the place where you will find the first of many original mantels with working fireplaces. The fireplace is placed in the corner and while that is generally uncommon, it was actually a favorite of Richard Sharp Smith, the architect. Three of the six original fireplaces in this house are in the corner. Elaborate classical Corinthian style, free-standing columns and an overmantel with a mirror make an elegant design statement.
Window treatments on the two 10'-wide three-window sets, rugs, and upholstery fabrics in shades of deep green, navy, and dark reds help create a feeling of a British Gentleman's Club. Sit awhile in the large club chairs. Or curl up on the antique settee or wingback chair with a book by Jane Austen or a Sherlock Holmes mystery. Or borrow one of the movies available in our video collection.
