Grosvenor Square Suite

In London, England, Grosvenor Square evokes thoughts of great sophistication and style. It is a beautiful garden space highlighted by many large bronze statues of historical figures. It’s also the location of the United States Embassy to Great Britain.

While it’s a large room plus bath totaling 330 square feet, we call our GROSVENOR SQUARE a suite because it also has a ground level, private entrance. Overlooking our Lower Garden, you’ll find it is decorated in subtly sophisticated toile wallpaper with several coordinated fabrics in soothing shades of ecru and cinnamon.

The king size four-poster cherry rice style bed has elegant custom-made “half tester” toile and cinnamon beige checked bed draperies. Matching custom bed linens and bedskirt make the bed a beautiful and inviting resting place.

An upholstered loveseat is the perfect place to read or watch television and it also opens into a comfortable twin size bed. You may want to jot a note to a friend or make an entry in your travel journal at the antique Circassian walnut desk and swan chair.

The working fireplace is located on a raised tile, corner hearth while the 26" flatscreen LCD TV and DVD/VCR are built into cabintry above the mantel.

Among the other furnishings is a blockfront mahogany chest. A pair of classical style table lamps, a custom finished chandelier and a brass floor lamp provide lots of light for reading or can be dimmed down to create a romantic mood.

The French tiled bath has a generous size pedestal sink, a refrigerator and Flavia beverage maker and also includes a state-of-art, double Sanijet pipeless whirlpool tub with shower and a British towel warmer.

Several of the Innkeeper’s own photos of lovely English garden architecture, English china and mirrors as well as books by Jane Austen and Wm. Shakespeare all add to the “bit of Britain” in our Grosvenor Square suite.
