Kew Garden Room

Our KEW GARDEN, an 18'x15' room, is named for the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew, near London in England. What better place to relax from your day "out & about"? This room features a king size four-poster cherry rice style bed with an elegant, custom-made "half tester" canopy in brilliant Chinese blue.

The working fireplace has an original quarter-sawn oak mantelpiece with unusual, original "tortoise shell" tiles surrounding it. Two wingback chairs offer a place to relax in front of the fire. Or sit awhile and write post cards or a note to yourself at the handsome antique mahogany dressing table.

You get a feeling of elegance and history as you enter this lovely room. A restored original brass ceiling light and Oriental pottery lamps add soft light to this room. And as you carefully store your things in the spectacular antique gentleman's chest with flame-grain mahogany drawer fronts, you can easily imagine the elegant British gentleman for whom it was made long ago.

And, for a dash of the modern, a 32" widescreen LCD TV is mounted on the wall.

Relax at the end of your day in the lovely tiled marble bath, featuring a state-of-the-art Sanijet pipeless whirlpool tub and rain shower.

Our Kew Garden room is decorated in a coordinated suite of fabrics that include shades of royal blue, light blue and ivory with Chinese blue and white pottery accents and stunning handmade blue Chinese rugs. What could be more appropriate, since the British have collected things from Japan and China for over four hundred years?
