New year, new blog post! As we have been updating things here at the Inn, we set our sights on updating our blog for our inn, Abbington Green Bed & Breakfast Inn.
With that, it seemed like a natural thing to introduce myself and tell you a little bit about who I am and how I ended up owning this beautiful inn located in Asheville, North Carolina…
I’m Nick Poulos and owning an Inn has been a long time passion of mine. Fifteen years ago I began a file folder of ideas, articles, and clipping of things I would want in my Inn one day. Meanwhile, my 30 year retail career in Senior Management, continued to develop my skills and financially support my dream.
I lived in Raleigh and Charlotte, NC early in my career and frequently visited Asheville. I think that’s when I fell in love with the beauty of Asheville, the Blue Ridge Mountains, and all there is to do in the area. I knew once I started looking for an Inn, Asheville was the place I wanted to be. The moment I walked into Abbington Green, it felt like home. The historic charm, the modern conveniences, and the close proximity to downtown encompass what I would like in an Inn.
As a Regional Vice President for Williams-Sonoma in the Southeast, my passion for cooking had grown. I enjoy entertaining guests and friends. There is nothing better than conversation and sharing stories while enjoying a delicious breakfast in the morning. How your day begins is important to me.
My education in hospitality, and my Greek heritage, has taught me the importance of making guests feel welcome. I have a sign that hangs outside the front door that reads, “What I love most about my home is who I share it with.” That’s what you will find in Abbington Green Bed and Breakfast Inn.
I hope to see you soon, Nick
