The Foyer
It's a lovely room rather than just a hallway. Home designs by the architect, Richard Sharp Smith, frequently made these entry rooms into important spaces that can also be used for entertaining. In our case, Sharp Smith brought the perspective that he achieved in designing the Biltmore Estate in the form of our grand staircase being installed to the right of the foyer which allowed the rooms on our first floor to be very large. The Foyer has high ceilings, nearly 10' high throughout, which makes it feel very spacious, and features one archway, which was added to the foyer as a detail to denote the entrance to the formal area of the home, our Dining Room.
A painting of the house by Mike Ryon proudly adorns the wall.
